Hello, and thanks for a fine product.
I have had some problems, however, with random system freezing.
I am using your latest version, installed today, v1.0.0.9
I also had this same problem with v1.0.0.8
I am running XP SP3 on a 3GHz P4 with 2GB of RAM.
I have .NET 2.0 SP1 installed.
All my videos are playable on my system.
When I attempt to run VTM on say 20 or so videos, or even less, my entire system will freeze, necessitating a reboot.
I have gone through several test runs, changing the amount and type of files, thumbnail save folder, etc and I still have the problems.
Some times I can make it through 10 or so files, sometimes it freezes on the first one.
Also, this will happen with many different file types including AVI, MPG, WMV, and FLV.
There seems to be no pattern to the freezing at all.
The log file contains no info at all except noting the process starting.
I also get no error in event monitor.

Do you have any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi.

It looks like a hardware problem. Maybe CPU or videocard overheating.
Video processing requires a lot of calculations.

Does the processing take place on the GPU?
My card is not the best, but I thought it wouldn't come into the equation.
Also, this problem occurred on both my old rig and my current one.
The only components to make the move into the new rig were 2 ram modules ( added a third one new) and the old HDD which is now strictly a data backup. No files I am trying to thumbnail reside on that drive.
The processor is stock 3GHz with no over clocking.
I hate to think I am hitting a brick wall here because your app is really great.

Yes, the processing takes place on the CPU and on the GPU.

Honestly i don't believe what the reason of your Random System Freezing is related to my app. I think it is a hardware problem.

Try to run another powerful software (benchmarks).
