Presets compability

Any presets I create(d) are not saved/exported/impoted correctly in 4.0.0.3.
I updated directly from version 3 (never problem with that one, but after the update to 4 Version 3 now is back to common, so can not use it) and I am silver.

The only way to get the correct preset is first open the old version 3, import the preset and close Version 3.
Then open Version 4 and then import the preset and it is correct.

I have tried to re-export them with version 3 and 4 with no luck.

This is very irritating, since I use about 10 different preset layouts for the sheets.

It looks like Version 4 keeps the old preset in memory and when import a new preset it keeps/loads/shows the previous one imported.

Additional info:

I just noticed that if I import the preset with V3 and click Save and close V3 and then open V4 I do have the correct preset load, do not even have to import, so it is clear that somehow the last preset always stays, but the problem is, that a new import does not get impoted.

Current preset stores in registry.

If you are interested in keeping your old v3 presets - you can use this feature to "transfer" your old presets to new v4 of the program.

First of all I think all "old" user would like to keep the V3 presets and just be imported correctly by V4. angry

So YES, ofcourse I am interested in keeping my old V3 presets.
Maybe you could explain a little bit more what "this feature" is you mentioned.

I checked my registry and in none of the software folders is a folder for VideoThumbnailMaker

You have already described the only possible way to convert a preset from v3 to v4.
This is not handy but the only way to do it.

My notice discovers the place in registry where actual preset values are stored
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SUU Design\Video Thumbnails Maker

Does this mean, it is no longer possible, to define a preset file within a CLI command? cry

Why did you decide that?

You still able to define a preset file within a CLI interface.

I used a tool chain which I designed in the past under V3.x where I used a template with a logo for this type of movies and selected - depending on the duration - a sub-template a with different numbers of rows.
This tool worked fine in the past, but since I'm using V5.x the output files look always the same (like the last 'hand made' setting)

Is there in meantime any other solution to convert V3-Preset's to V5?

I do not have V3 anymore and there is no chance to download and reinstall it.
