Relative file paths

Hi

Is there a way to set relative file paths for the video instead of absolute? I often move my files to other locations (video file and the vtx, both in the same folder), but the vtx still points to the old path of the video.

If this isn't possible yet, this would be a feature which I would love to see in a future release.

Hi.

How should it look like?

I'm thinking of a "Use relative path to video"-checkbox after the "save thumbnails to your folder" checkbox.

In my opinion this option only makes sense, if "save thumbnails to your folder" is unchecked. So maybe you can place is next to "The same (near video)".

What do you think? :-)

The path should be relative to "something".
Could you post examples of your idea?

All .vtx files currently point to the Video with a absolute path, even of they're in the same folder, for example: D:\Videos\myvideo.vtx points to "D:\Videos\myvideo.avi".

If I now move both the .vtx and .avi files into a subfolder, for example D:\Videos\subfolder, the vtx still points to the original D:\Videos\myvideo.avi, which is not there anymore.

This could be solved with a relative path:
D:\Videos\myvideo.vtx points to "myvideo.avi". If I move both files, the vtx will still find the myvideo.avi, because it's in the same folder as the .vtx.

Missing that feature too. I moved all of my files and now I have to generate all thumbnails again to fix the paths.
